After bifurcation, the Khammam Commissionerate was spread over an area of 4360 Sq. KMs with (379) Revenue villages and a population of 14,01,639 (2011 Census). The area is divided into (21) Mandals in (02) Revenue Divisions viz., Khammam and Kallur (New), 380 Revenue villages. The District shares (01) parliamentary constituency with (5) Assembly Constituencies viz., Khammam, Palair, Wyra, Madhira and Sathupalli and (1) Kamepally Mandal of Yellandu A/C (Kamepally PS) of Mahaboobabad PC are in the District.
